George Andrew Reisner (1867 - 1942) was an American archaeologist who led numerous excavations in Egypt and Nubia (Nilotic Sudan) and discovered the tomb of Queen Hetepheres, mother of King Khufu (Khufu), builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza. He participated with an international group of experts in the classification of the great Egyptological collection of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (1897-99).
