A reference work in the field of Egyptology.

Reisner's work on amulets documents the Cairo Museum's vast collection of Egyptian antiquities, providing detailed descriptions and illustrations of the different types of amulets found in Egyptian tombs and temples. He had a lasting impact on the field of Egyptology, and his catalogue remains a valuable resource for scholars and researchers alike, providing an insight into the culture, religion and daily life of the ancient Egyptians.

George Andrew Reisner (1867 - 1942) was an American archaeologist who led numerous excavations in Egypt and Nubia (Nilotic Sudan) and discovered the tomb of Queen Hetepheres, mother of King Khufu (Khufu), builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza. He participated with an international group of experts in the classification of the great Egyptological collection of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (1897-99).
