Barry Iverson was a photographer for Time Magazine for 25 years, covering the Middle East from 1981 to 2007, photographing all the major events in the region for a quarter of a century. His work references the Middle East and his practice is rooted in the New Topography movement of the 1970s, but also shaped by the history of photography, documentary work and cinematic influences. Iverson describes his series ‘The Tour’ as a ‘documentary fiction’, derived from his previous series ‘Comparative Views of Egypt’.
