Novel by the Irish-born novelist Jemima Montgomery 1807 - 1893. Born in Sea View Donegal. She was the wife of Baron Tautphoeus, Chamberlain of the Bavarian Court. Her cousin was Maria Edgeworth who was a great inspiration to her. She received much praise for her description of the Bavarian landscape and the people of the upper class and peasantry. She lived in Bavaria all her life and wrote three novels.
