Fourth and final volume of the four-volume edition published from 1941 to 1969.In collaboration with the Egyptian botanist Mohammed Drar (1894 - 1964), Taeckholm published four volumes on the flora of Egypt, containing the monocotyledons and some families of dicotyledons. These volumes represent a milestone in floristic studies in Egypt (Cairo 1941, 1950, 1954 and 1969). They include the plants recorded in Sinai that belong to the families studied. Drar was the founder and director of three important botanical gardens in Cairo. He established the botanical section, garden, library and herbarium of the Agricultural Museum, where his important collections from Egypt and Sudan are still kept.
